“Through the ORBIS Lens” is a collection of photos showcasing the issues surrounding global eye health. Each week ORBIS will share our best photographs highlighting our efforts to eliminate avoidable blindness around the world.
Dr. Balamurali Ambati, ORBIS Volunteer Faculty member from Moran Eye Center during the 2012 ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital program in Surabaya, Indonesia. Dr. Ambati worked side-by-side with indoneisian ophthalmologists to share his experience, skills and knowledge with local medical professionals in East Java.
Dr. Ambati was only 17-years-old when he earned his M.D., the youngest person ever to achieve this feat!
